Gualter Barbas: „My work focuses on the fields of ecological economics and political ecology. My transdisciplinary research has included in most cases the mitigation of conflicts between economical activities and ecological sustainability. This has included activities such as pig-farming, aquaculture and wood and paper production. During this work I have developed participatory approach with stakeholders for bottom up development of tools, policies and approaches for conflict resolutions. During my PhD I developed analysis tools for environmental conflicts using the theoretical foundations of social metabolism and complex adaptive systems.”
